Moving is a complex process on its own whether you are moving out of a rental or a home you own. Some things like pets or teenagers can make it a little more challenging, but a toddler is another story. These youngsters are sometimes tough to handle as they do not always understand the concept of moving. It becomes a mission to keep your toddler and the rest of the family happy while also being productive.
Spend Nap Time Efficiently
As your baby gets older, they will begin to require less napping. By the time they are a toddler, they may only need 1 to 2 hours of napping to function normally for the entire day. This is when you should plan on being most productive because it allows you to put your complete attention on the task at hand. But, you should avoid loud activities during this time such as moving furniture or organizing metal or glass items. Packing clothes, labeling boxes, or working on projects in rooms that are far away is ideal.
Get Them Involved
Although your toddler is certainly limited in their ability to help you with the move, they are serviceable. Involving them in the moving process can make them feel better about moving to a new home. Turning it into a fun project or an exciting game can yield even greater results by keeping them happy and occupied. A great idea is to have them build a pile of toys, and then you can put them nicely organized into boxes.

Toddlers can only do so much to help with a move, and you will need to give them your undivided attention for a considerable portion of every day. Do not hesitate to get professional assistance, even if it is just in the form of packing some boxes and disassembling your furniture. Professional loading and driving will give you plenty of time to focus on stress your toddler may feel.
