About Me
storing online sales inventory in a storage unit

One of my favorite life ventures has been selling on the online auction websites. Since I always need something to sell, I am always out shopping for great finds. When I find things, I need a place to keep them until I can get them sold. This is where the problems arose. I had all kinds of inventory to sell, but I had nowhere to store it in my home. A friend of mine suggested that I rent a storage unit for my inventory and I did just that. My blog contains tips for protecting and organizing inventory in a small storage unit.

3 Ways To Make Moving In Together Easier

Jessica Franklin

Moving in together is a big deal for most couples. However, it can also be a difficult decision. To ensure that your cohabitation is a success, it is important that you start planning for it weeks ahead of time. Here are some tips to help the process go a bit smoother.

Take Inventory and Compare

Even though you know everything that you have, you do not know everything that your partner possesses. Both of you need to create an inventory list detailing your possessions so that you can compare it. By doing this, you can decide before one item is packed, what you are keeping.

Put Items in Storage

Obviously, there are going to be items that both you and your partner own. If neither of you are willing to sell your belongings, place them in a self-storage unit. Choose a local unit, such as Epic Group Inc, so it's easy to access.

In the future, you and your partner can review the items in the storage and decide if you want to do sell, donate, or giveaway the items. Do not rush the decision about the storage. Set a time period, such as six months, to maintain the storage. This will give you an opportunity to carefully consider what arrangements you want to make.

Create Your Own Space

Living with someone around the clock can be a new experience after living alone for a period of time. Unlike when you were just dating, you do not have a space of your own outside of the home to retreat to when you need your personal time.

If your home is large enough, you and your partner can set aside your own personal space that is exclusively for your use. For instance, set up a craft shop or man-cave for yourself. However, if you are moving into a small apartment or home, you need to be creative to find the space you need.

You can turn a part of a room into your own space if needed. For instance, set up an office space in a spare bedroom or even in the corner of the dining room or living room. If you have a backyard, you can use patio furniture to create another space in which each partner can retreat, if necessary.

Moving in with your partner is a big move. With creativity and a bit of compromise, you and your partner can have fun with the experience instead of letting small arguments about your belongings eat at your newly formed cohabitation.
